Foot Numbness

Has anyone dealt with numbness in their DVT foot after being taken off coumadin? I had a DVT in Jan 2010 and a superficial clot in Nov 2010 in the same leg. I have not been diagnosed with PTS, but I experience quite a bit of pain in my leg (bad enough that I had ultrasounds done to confirm that the veins were clear.) Now I am experiencing numbness in the sole of my foot, running from toes to heel, and my ankle is somewhat swollen. The numbness is constantly there, but the swelling increases throughout the day, even though I am wearing my compression stocking, and there is is an achy soreness by evening. I am a teacher, so I spend the biggest part of the day on my feet.

My leg is not red, there is no other swelling in my leg, and the pain is not any worse than normal. So I am not too concerned that it's another clot. The first appt that I can get with my doctor without having to miss school is not for another 2 weeks, so I was hoping maybe someone would have some insight and/or suggestions about what I can do to help.

Thanks, in advance, for your response.

I have the same numbness in my left leg where the DVT has been for 10 months. It seems to be spreading up my leg to my knee. I've talked to my heart Dr.and my blood Dr. who didn't seem too interested in talking about the numbness. Last week I went to my regular Dr. to see if he could help me see what's causing it. He's ordered an MRI to see if it's caused by a buldged disc I had three years ago. I'll update you.

I have had foot numbness off and on for almost nine years now.
It comes and goes and does not really bother me that much anymore. I have gotten used to it.

I had a dvt and massive multiple pulmonary emboli about 6 years ago, on 7mg warfarin daily for the rest of my life... since then there has always been some swelling and pain at the end of the day but within the past 6 months or so I've noticed my dvt legs big toe has gone numb and tingly, seems to be permanent, its not that bad, just kind of wierd and annoying.
