One new option for people who have been diagnosed with a blood clot is Thrombolysis which uses medicines and devices to remove the blood clot. While not risk free, and not offered universally, the following doctors and institutions do offer this. If you think you may be interested, it is important to act quickly. Blood clots harden within the first several weeks, making it much more difficult to remove the clot. This procedure has risks and you should discuss with your doctors the tradeoffs for your particular situation.

Hi I was in getting a scan recently and the doctor mentioned a patient who had
some good results while using Xeralto and drinking Rooibos Red tea from South
Africa.
It is high in antioxidants and no caffeine.

I managed to get some pure tea and drinking it for the past 2 weeks.

While it's too early for any scans next is not till December I will continue to drink
it's.
If it helps then great, if not its a very nice tea to drink anyway

Cannot hurt,
Cheers

I was breathalysed recently and found to be well over the limit on not too much alcohol. Would a high INR have affected the reading or would the warfarin have enhanced the effect of the alcohol...?

Do I have a DVT?

Recently I have been feeling a lot of numbness and tingly in my
right leg, chest pains, shortness of breath, lightheadedness. Etc.
I have had a chest X-ray, EKG, Echocardiogram, D-dimer and Spinal
X-ray done. All turns out to be fine. Although, a new issue has
arisen. My left leg is experiencing swelling near the thigh area
near the groin. Its not painful, albeit it maybe a little bit sore
and numb. It happened this morning, I am 16, 150 lbs Male, No
alcohol or drugs and unknown about any genetic relationship too
this. I have seen so many doctors this week because of my left leg
and other symptom that my parents think I am just really
hypersensitive, but now my right leg is highly acting up and I am
scared. Are these signs of DVT?

Natto and DVT question

I have had a DVT in my right leg for 10 years and have been taking 10mg of
Coumadin daily for it. I would very much like to get off of the Coumadin.
My questions are these:

If I take Natto is there a difference in the raw form, straight Natto, and the NSK-SD?
What is the best dosage?
Is it better on an empty stomach or with food?
It is VERY hard to find reliable info on this. Most of what is on the internet is just
history and anecdotal info. Nothing much about dosage, taking w/ or w/o food, etc.
And when I do find a real person reviewing it they seldom give details about how
they take it.
Can someone PLEASE answer these questions clearly based on their experience?
Thanks.

pain never goes away. I've had two EVLT's done and some injections in
the back of my knee. Has anyone had severe pain when sitting??. Pressure
on my thigh makes it burn, and my toes tingle
My ankle and foot swell and wearing shoes makes sore spots. Pain is
much better when standing.

How long before clot is considered chronic?

I had a dvt/pe 16 months age. I am on warfarin and been wearing compression
stockings for about a year. My dvt was in my mid thigh. For the first year I had
little to no improvement as far as the clot getting any smaller it remained fully
occluded. It did improve in that I had less pain and swelling. I had 4 scans in first
12 months all showed the clot was unchanged. Three months ago I had a scan
that showed partial occlusion. I am due for another coming up. So I guess my
question is at this point is there a chance I can still have a full recovery? The
doctors don't see to be able to give me a straight answer. Has anyone had a full
recovery over the course of 1-2 maybe even 3+ years.
Thanks,

Hi all. I'm a little confused
and I think you can help me!
I ended up in the ER to be
tested for dvt yesterday and
found positive for that. So I
spent the night in the
hospital and was put on
Xarelto and actually showed
improvement enough today to
come home. My question is am
I supposed to be mostly
relaxing with my leg up like
in a recliner, or mostly
moving around like
walking/light exercise? My
swelling has already come
down by about a third and the
calf is actually soft again
lol.Thanks so much.

Clot?

I had a TIA about 12 years ago. They found I had Factor V Leiden
with Protein S deficiency.

To my knowledge I have had no other clots, I am not taking any
medication.

The past few months I have had very bad muscle spasms in my right
calf when I am sleeping. I chalked it up to bad diet/dehydration.
Yesterday I woke up with pain, numbness and tingling in my right
thigh. If the pain was still as bad today as it was yesterday I
would be in with my doctor, but the pain has significantly
subsided (still there but going away), so I am questioning if it
is a clot or I am just being paranoid?

If it was a clot would the pain subside?

Thanks so much!

Omeprazone(Prilosec,Prevacid) and DVTs

Just read an article in the news (
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/06/10/gastric-reflux-drugs-linked-to-
heart-attacks/?ref=health&_r=0 ) that mentions that use the Omeprazole
can facilitate the clot generation process (at least the ones that
trigger hear attacks). Curious to estimate how many people in this forum
was on Omeprazole in days, weeks or months prior to having the DVT
episode. I was taking it by the way, but not sure there is a connection.

Blood clot?

Worried I might have DVT. For the past few days my left leg has felt stiff, tight,
tingly (like going numb) and slightly painful (like someone squeezing too hard).
However, I don't see any swelling or discolouration. Today, I could noticed the
sensation spreading to my thigh. Worried, because I have been sitting around and
been in the bed a lot. It feels heavy when I walk on it, but oddly it feels a little bit
better when I do. *shrug* I also took painkiller and it was useless. Had no effect.
I'm 21, I am overweight. I was thinking if it keeps up, I'm going to the ER. Anyone
have no swelling or discolouration, but still had DVT?

Pain after DVT

Hi everyone,
I had the sleeve surgery on 6/27/13 and afterwards developed a large blood clot
from my groin down to my calf in my left leg. I was diagnosed on 8/28/13. My
doctor put me on Xarelto and I was hospitalized for about 5 days and given
lovenox shots during that time. I was in excruciating pain at the time, it definitely
got better after hospitalization but the pain didn't completely go away until about
mid October. Ever since then I've been feeling great. I've been exercising and
losing more weight. I get the occasional uncomfortable pain mostly when I don't
exercise, but as long as I am staying active I have had no pain. That is until last
week when I tried spinning for the 1st time. It was definitely a lot more
challenging than anything else I've been doing. About 2 hours later my leg started
to swell again and I started having mild pain. It got better in the morning but then
after standing up for a long time it swelled again and the pain started ag... read more
